The Consecration of Life: The Value of Life

Written By Abigael Wangechi Wanjohi

A Child of God and Radiographer’s Perspective

Every heartbeat is a story God began writing long before conception.

Yet our generation is learning to silence those stories in the name of freedom.
What the world calls choice, Heaven calls sacred.
And what society normalizes, Scripture still names as sin.

The Reality I’ve Seen

In my years as a radiographer, I have seen many young women come for scans after failed or incomplete abortions. Some are frightened, some numb, others broken. Society has taught them to see abortion as self-care, a quick fix for an inconvenient consequence.

Many feel cornered: afraid of shame, rejection, or being left alone to raise a child. When the biological father refuses responsibility, it feels like the only escape.

But here’s the truth: it’s okay to come before God as you are. God still calls you His own. Your name is written on His palms. If you were the only person on earth, He would still have gone to the cross for you.

The Standard of Truth

Today, abortion is legalized in many countries, just as sexual freedom and perversion is widely celebrated. But Christianity is not defined by the laws of nations or the trends of culture.
It is anchored in the Word of God.

“You shall not murder.” — Exodus 20:13

The world says, “It’s your right.”
Scripture says, “It’s a life.”
What the world calls progress, God still calls sin, just as He calls fornication and immorality sin, no matter how normal they have become.

The Value of Life in God’s Eyes

It is striking that nations protect eagle or sea turtle eggs, yet allow human babies to be destroyed in the womb. How did a soulless egg become more precious than a human life made in God’s image?

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” — Jeremiah 1:5
“Your eyes saw my unformed body.” — Psalm 139:15–16

Life does not start at conception.
It begins in the mind of God.
Every baby is a divine thought, a living masterpiece stamped:
“God at work. Do not disturb.”

Science Echoes Scripture

From conception, a new DNA completely unique is formed.
That is not potential life. It is life.

In the scan room, I have seen babies kick when worship music plays.
I have listened to six-week heartbeats that move me to tears.
That sound is not just evidence of life. It is life itself.

The Enemy’s Old Strategy

What looks modern is actually ancient.

In the Old Testament, people sacrificed children to false gods like Molech and Baal for prosperity.
Today, society sacrifices them for convenience, reputation, and comfort. The same spirit still operates, only polished and renamed.

The devil’s goal is the same: to silence wombs destined to birth prophets, intercessors, and world changers.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” — John 10:10

Grace Still Speaks

Here is the hope of the Gospel: no sin is too heavy for the blood of Jesus.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28–30

If abortion, guilt, or shame weigh you down, there is mercy. Confess and return, and He will forgive, heal, and restore you. When the enemy reminds you of your past, remind him of his future.

A Prayer for New Beginnings

Salvation Prayer
Lord Jesus, I come before You broken and repentant.
I reject every lie of the enemy and receive Your forgiveness.
Wash me in Your blood, fill me with Your Spirit, and make me new.
Amen.

Prayer of Healing
Father, forgive me for shedding innocent blood.
Heal my heart, cleanse my womb, and restore my peace.
I am redeemed and whole in You.
Amen.

Heaven rejoices over you today.

You are forgiven.
You are loved.
And your life, and every life, is sacred before God.
